Fun fact: US Army commissioned Corning to make glass dishes durable enough that they could be thrown against the wall without breaking. Such Vintage and of real quality. Why is Pyrex a collectable? Increased rarity of what used to be ubiquitous. Pyrex ceased production of its colorware in the mid- 1980’s. Huge variety of styles with over 170 patterns. Why are some so expensive?
